Another day, another opening. Arriving at 6:30, which we thought was early for a Wednesday night, we joined the party at the newly re-furbished Hare and Hounds which was already buzzing with excited people drinking and jamming to the eclectic mix from guest DJ Lewis Wright. The new Hare and Hound, attracted a variety of ages and lifestyles, from students to professionals, all embracing London Road’s new hot spot. Twists of graffiti art connoting an underground urban hangout lined the walls throughout along with hanging beer kegs and tanks, combining the impression of a distillery (minus the smell) with the atmosphere of a vibrant pub.
Cage like booths garlanded with steel mesh, surrounded the bar adding to the industrialised aspect and re-enforcing the pub’s individuality. With a rather tropical setting created by palm trees and heated lights, the garden was made up of intimate wooden booths and decked areas, perfect for big groups.
More is to come from the Hare and Hounds pub through the opening of the Mexican kitchen, La Choza, already one of our favourite eateries in the North Laine.
No doubt, the Hare and Hounds is going to be one of our top choices for a night filled with energetic people and a lively atmosphere. London Road has a new little gem!
